NU Pathways Recovery (NPR), PLLC was started on July 18, 2018, opened for business on March 4, 2019 at 315 N. 10th Avenue suite 109 in Nashville, and the focus of the practice was medication management for women. In 2020 the company made the transition to tele-health medicine. Additionally, NPR has partnered with several therapy clinics to offer clients both individual therapy and group therapy. Also, NPR is partnered with the Harmony Family Health Care Clinic to provide services to clients without a primary care provider (PCP).

NPR is owned and operated by Angela Martin, MSN, APN, FNP, BC who has over 14 years’ experience in the mental health field. She has worked for several private companies, but her time working in the women’s prison encouraged her to start NU Pathways Recovery, PLLC, in an attempt to help alleviate the current crisis the mental health field is experiencing largely related to the lack of providers extending mental health medication management services. The scope of her practice ranges from referrals, collaboration and consulting with partners as needed to develop workable treatment plans for the at-risk mental health population who find themselves without adequate access and resources. The company has expanded to include both women and men for treatment to stabilize the community that struggle with chronic mental illness. Dr. William D. Richie, MD, is her official doctor of supervision for the practice.

"I have the passion and desire to be a catalyst for change in helping women and men recover in every area of their lives by having optimal, stable mental health. I want to serve clients recovering from alcohol and drugs as well as those suffering with mental health issues. These unique challenges can be achieved by providing medication management, therapy, and education to help alleviate the stigma of getting mental health care. Every person deserves to have a chance at having a stable, productive life".
